Housed in the old West Bay railway station, just a short hop from Bridport in Dorset, our afternoon tea blends theatrical flair with relaxed charm and a little twist on the classic cream tea you know and love.
Our Afternoon Tea is served every Saturday at Platform, with tables available from midday until 5pm and the last sitting at 2.30pm. That makes it perfect for a coastal stroll before tea, a long lunch stop between West Bay and Bridport, or a laid‑back afternoon with friends.
Booking your cream tea
To secure your spot for a memorable cream tea, simply book online and choose your preferred time on Saturday between midday and 5pm.
A non‑refundable deposit of £5 per person is taken at the time of booking. You’ll be asked to confirm your choice of traditional or savoury, or any dietary requirements, under the notes section.
Large groups are very welcome – our carriages at the station can seat up to 55 guests.
Choose your perfect afternoon tea
You can pick between a traditional afternoon tea at £35 per adult (£45 per adult with a glass of champagne) or a savoury high tea at £45 per adult (£55 per adult with a glass of champagne). Children’s afternoon tea is £17.50, so the whole family can join in.
Each afternoon tea includes delicate finger sandwiches, freshly baked scones with local jam and clotted cream and a selection of homemade cakes and pastries that change with the season.
The savoury afternoon tea leans more into bites and savouries, while the traditional spread leans into classic sweet treats for a luxurious cream tea.
We look after all allergies and can accommodate dietary needs with a little notice, including vegan and gluten‑free afternoon tea options. If you let us know in advance, our kitchen will prepare a stand that suits your table, so no one feels like an afterthought.
