Our unique setting – two carriages and the old Station House
What makes Platform truly special is its setting. Our restaurant occupies two beautifully restored railway carriages – Beeching and Brunel – alongside the historic Station House, originally built in 1884. Each offers its own character and charm.
Brunel – the heart of Platform
Brunel is our main dining area, seating up to 45 guests – perfect for group bookings, celebrations and special occasions.
During the First World War, this carriage travelled through France as an ambulance train, transporting doctors, nurses and injured soldiers from the Battle of the Somme.
Beeching – dog‑friendly
Our newest, fully refurbished carriage is dog friendly and perfect for groups of three to twenty. Beeching is our overflow carriage and used when Brunel is full.
Built in 1958, it once served as a mess coach at Toddington Station in the Cotswolds.
Old Station House Bar
Steeped in charm, the Station House is where Platform began.
Now elegantly restored, it’s our bar area. Whether you’re dining or not, join us for cocktails, wine, beers, hot drinks and bar snacks. Guests can also choose from a selection of games to play!
